I am new to Visio. I have made a master shape (Cisco Switch) which contains multiple shapes 24 of them are each ethernet port. What I want to do is in the shape data for the main shape have each port listed and populated with what is connected to it. Now here is where I am having trouble. Each of the ethernet ports have their own shape data. I would like to copy the data from the main shape data into the port shape data. I hope my formula below exaplains it better :)

(Ethernet Port Shape) Prop.Function.Value = (Main Shape) Prop.Port1.Value

And then in turn change the comment in the Ethernet Port Shape Data to be Prop.Function so when I hover over each ethernet port it would then display that data.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Daryll

These newsgroups are no longer in use and it is unlikely that you will get any
other answer here.
There are replacement forums for Visio, Microsoft's own:
